I see that Khan has crossed the floor. It was quite clear from the remarks that like Harper, Khan is an economic liberal so it is not surprising that he would find Harper’s ideology more appealing.

Certainly, the Prime Minister has shown again and again that just like Chretien and Martin he does not respect the ballot box or the decisions of the voters. From appointing backroom strategists to the Senate and government, throwing elected Conservatives out of caucus, or luring those who received a mandate through a different political party, it shows a total lack of respect for the ballot box.

Well, here is some news, Wajid Khan has defected to the CPC.

What I want to know is how is Wajid Khan more worthy of sitting as a Conservative than Garth Turner?

This is a guy for whom Stephen Harper was his 2nd choice for Prime Minister – his 1st was Joe Volpe.

So, MP Wajid Khan has defecetd from the Liberals to the Conservatives. The reason Mr. Dion gave him a ultimatum, as a Liberal you can’t advise the Conservatives on the Middle East and Afghanistan.
For Mr. Khan, it was a no brainer.
For Mr. Harper a coup, for Mr. Dion a self inflicted shot to the foot.
But it does show how partisan the political parties are, especially with a minority government. Whichever one is the official government, the other parties are just biding their time waiting for their opportunity; Mr. Harper did it to Mr. Martin, and now Mr. Dion is returning the favour.
Is it any wonder many are disenfanchised and don’t vote come election time? Maybe its time to ban party politics, 100% free votes, 100% of the time, confidence motions included!
At the next election what we need is a tie between Liberals and Conservatives, with the NDP, Bloc and indie’s not supporting either side. Maybe..just maybe…the two big boys will have to work together, picking the best from both sides as ministers and advisors…and then the country will move forward!

Would some of you men tell Wajjid Khan to get rid of the “rug” on his head – it is so passe and a real “turnoff” to women. I thought those things went out 30 years ago.

Hey, has Peter McKay been demoted – punishment for voting against the company party on same sex legislation. Gotta toe the company line!

Was it not last month that the Conservatives were crying about Stephane Dions’ duel citizenship. Now the conservatives have got an ex Pakistani fighter pilot on their side who carries duel citizenship. Will they cry blue murder on this to themselves or do they only criticize the liberals?

As William Shatner puts it: “Khhhaaaaannnnnnn!”.

Seriously now, I really wonder if Mr. Khan would even be reelected after his defection.
