“CAITI’s Questions for the Minister of Finance at the Upcoming Public Hearings on Income Trusts”

My bet, no answers will be forthcoming.
Looks like a poor set of questions to me — more intent on embarasing the minister than selling the real point that RRSPs have been taxed unfairly for a lng time. ie Dividends. Taxing trusts puts them on same tax basis as Div paying corps.
And what about the unfair taxation advantage pension plans get. CAITI should not be arguing the trust tax but suggesting what further actions need to be taken to make RRSPs not be taxed on payments into a plan through tax credit or something like that. The questions they are asking sound a lot like Question Period questions. ie Please answer yes or no – Do you still beat your wife?
