Garth,
Is there any way of getting some order in the HOC, I have to admit that I’m a newly political person and have been appalled by the behavior of the members of parliment especiaaly those from the Regressive Conservative Party. I watched
the clown prince John Baird spit and snarl like a rabib dog yesterday as he avoided answering any questions put to him. If this kind of behavior continues it will put a lot of people off and there will be fewer people bothering to go to the polls. We should forget all about that silly Clean Air Act stop these delaying committee meeting and get on with doing something about the enviroment. I realize that these born again enviromentalist don’t have a plan and have just reissued some of the liberal programs but as everyone knows this is not enough. We have the EPA so lets use that as a frame work AND GET THE JOB DONE.

Judy,

“I realize that these born again enviromentalist don’t have a plan”

I would not declare them ‘born again’ because they magically came into existence for the very first time! But, I certainly get your point! LOL

By putting doubts in Canadian’s minds as to Harper’s fitness to be PM, Dion gets his attack ad for free … he sure could give the Conservatives a lesson on being cost-effective.

Mr. Turner:

I would like to second that remark by Judy. The antics of all representatives in Question Period are extremely disheartening. It is discouraging to see the constant repetition of non-answers, collective nodding of heads, and juvenile behaviour. Nothing is accomplished by this amateur horrorshow except a confirmation of our disrespect for politicians.

I looked in the eyes of those not participating in the role playing and noticed genuine emotion. What I saw in some faces was the look of despair and frustration of the caged beast. They seemed trapped and helpless. It must be utter hell to be placed in a position to do something, to be motivated, but be constantly shackled by this stupid, kindergarten-like, political playpen.

My advice to those who care…If given a chance to speak. Stay silent. Stay silent for a few seconds until the frat boys settle down. Speak quietly, don’t shout. Speak slowly. Don’t read from a script. If you have something to say, surely it is something you believe in. If so, the words should come from your conviction, not a piece of paper.

After Question Period, I berated myself for ever having naively believed in our political system. How foolish I was to support it all these years.

No matter which party is running the country, they are NOT getting it done. Ninety percent of their time is devoted to telling us how the other side didn’t get it done.

Everyone SHOULD read John Iveson in todays National Post if they want to speak intellegently on the enviro issue…..that includes you Garth…wow talk about eye opening

With all this talk about Harper’s change of face regarding the environment, I am surprised that no one noticed that his about face strangely coincided with Mulroney’s advice to do so.
Harper won’t listen to 300 scientists but he appears to hang on Mulroney’s every word.
Who’s running the country, anyway?

so dodge is a flip flopper also.of coarse his remarks were taken out of context he says.
draw your own conclutions on mr. let,s dodge the issue !

Here is what Dodge said in 2006:

“The work we have done in terms of capital markets, per se, is that probably, on balance, income trusts make capital markets somewhat more complete and somewhat more efficient,” Dodge told a news conference held as part of the bank’s quarterly economic outlook. The bank studied trusts.

“Limited evidence suggests that income trusts may enhance market completeness by providing diversification benefits to investors and a source of financing to firms that might not otherwise have had access to markets,” the bank’s study said.

Judy

” clown prince John Baird spit and snarl like a rabib dog ”

If you can’t attack policy attack a persons look and style!!!

#11 Gord on 02.02.07 at 8:56 am

Howard,
Judy made some very valid points about policy. She DID NOT however attack either John Baird’s look or his style. His abominable behaviour goes well beyond what could be called “style” and his disgraceful manners SHOULD be under attack!!!

Well said, Judy!

don bool,

I merely posted the link, finding it interesting how Dodge now comes forward claiming Guru status. I make no other comment, but had to note the timing as being shall we say, ‘suspicious’?
