<description>The FIRST, and I mean the FIRST, item on any HOPE agenda (is this like the American CHANGE buzzword? that is so full of bs) should be a full program to help people insulate their homes and businesses. SERIOUSLY. Incentives and tax breaks and mandatory (REALLY) for government offices and public housing, too. This could cut Canada&#039;s oil dependence by 25% in ONE YEAR.

Breaks for solarization panels (now inexpensive ones are available) as well.
And benefits for the people who would use them should be given. Big Biz wouldn&#039;t like this as they don&#039;t have a monopolization but so what? It is not for us, it is for the future.

Another big line item is to quit the insane militarization of the police. The entire INSANE agenda of spending because the security industry wants Profit$ must go.

I will say this one more time in the forum/blog - the thing collapsing the US empire (and it is collapsing - the market follies are NOT over, merely contained) is the military keynesianISM of which Canada is a part, a copartner in a geopolitical strategy that is DOOMED. The foreign agenda drives the domestic agenda, too and that way the neocons legacy stays very much alive, choking everyone. Because US CONgres people are so beholden to earmarks, next year&#039;s proposed budget is a total catastrophe and taxes will go WAY up there - all to be paid by a ripped off middle class, Biz as usual. Why is Canada bailing out the US ass in Afghanistan? NO ONE IN AFGHANISTAN wants NATO troops there save the people being bribed and the drug warlords. I have met Afghanis who have managed to make it to Canada, so I know. They alreayd suffered under the Russian occupation and now put up with this.

And another detail - the big rush to militarize the Arctic and build nuclear bawes - for WHAT? The myth of the Northern passage is just that a MYTH. It bears no relation to NOW. and NOW is most precarious time, the most precarious time the world has ever known.

Canada is living in an age of tranglobalism and I am sure few can deny that now - they see the effects every day of their lives. If there is one trnasglobal that must be fought tooth and nail - it is MONSANTO. Otherwise the entire soil of Canada will be DESTROYED for good. To fully experience what is happening around the globe, Engdahl&#039;s SEEDS OF DESTRUCTION is a must read. Recently a documentary about hwat happens when they are allowed in ran on French TV - but not in North America!!

If you save the basic resources - the land, the water, reclaim Canada&#039;s skies from these useless jets of the US military, things MIGHT work out.

But me, I&#039;ve already seen the CENTCOM/Central Canada Command deal inked on 14 February. It&#039;s on CENTCOM&#039;s website. I know that Paul Martin inked the SPP deal 23 May 2005. I saw the article where Canada said that WATER IS NOT A BASIC HUMAN RIGHT at the United Nations. I see Canada&#039;s flagrant disregard for international obligations and ignoring Geneva. I see the persecution of First Nations activists who are merely trying to save Canada from its own folly, and I&#039;ll tell you, after seeing what I see and knowing what I know, it would take a REAL lot to convince me that Canada&#039;s future generations are going to be looked after by the Liberal Party. I know of the plans to institute the new insanity at the Vancouver Olympics. MISSION ACCOMPLSIHED then.

Seriously. If you don&#039;t take care of the NEEDS, then someone always gets abused - that is a fundamental truth and one that Canada has forgotten about long ago.

I came to this country seeking asylum in 1994. I had my legally binding UN refugee certificate taken away by .. the LIBERAL PARTY and am still abused by the system here. It was and reamins a terrible waste - I possess a formidable mind AND a sense of VALUES. I bear no grudge to my new country, per se, except to the medical system in Ontario which does not work. I have a son here and he has friends who I care about. My distress for them only grows by the day. I have served as an elector and seen the young stay away in droves. No young person I know has ANY faith in politicians, not a single one. If you think you can offer them HOPE, it is going to shock me. With Canada coupled with the US and no media that prints the truth, just follows the same old, same old propaganda machine day after day, I don&#039;t really see much change or hope - and that is TRAGIC.
It will be insteresting to see what you have to say about two topics - government transparency and how to get US intel out of Canada. Canada needs its OWN real intel, to dismantle tyranny as others have done (Chile, Estonia, other places) and to stand on its own two feet and be proud to hold its head up in the COMMUNITY of nations once more.

NATO and Canada. What can I say? A road to DOOM.

<description>This thread seems to have gone far off topic. I`ll repost this along with new on topic info.
Check the time line, you can`t help but notice the message is right on the money.

their agenda, like the Republicans down south, just happened to coincide quite nicely with this disaster.

In case you`d like to discuss reality vs ideology here`s a few things you might want to dwell on.

Here`s a little history so you know what the bought and paid for msm isn`t telling you, on orders from Ottawa.
I had communication with Premier Campbell up until the time he thought if he ignored the warning the global community would shun Canada unless changes made. Right on cue investors started leaving Canada in 2002, oops, sry Gord, you were wrong. Ignoring the issue only made it worse. I said at the time Ontario would take the biggest hit if they drug that make work for lawyers program for young offenders across Canada, just to back McLellan. McQuinty and the federal Liberals thought they could ignore it and it would go away, oops on McQuinty.
Last summer when Garth was predicting higher interest rates as a problem area I took the inflation side of the debate, oops on Garth, and when I said last fall cash is good, oops on you.

In the last thread I predicted a 10 to 20 year downturn for Canada. Take note of commodity prices and compare manufacturing output of global industry. The rise in commodity prices does not reflect the current global output whereas the output matches flagging global consumer spending power.
In other words the strong prices are not reflecting future consumer demand. Stockpiling for global conflict is certainly a strong possibility but for the results directly affecting Canada I`ll stay strictly with big money hedging against a shaky US dollar along with an unhealthy dose of irrational exuberance.
With the US economy in position to recover first, possibly as soon as 2009 depending on the depth of credit card defaults, any sign the bottom has been reached, money will flow back out of commodities and into US equities and currency. Not on consumer demand or even future demand but just on an anticipated stabilization. It will take much longer for US consumer spending power to return which will further delay our resource based economy in stabilizing and even longer for our spending power to return, 10 to 20 years.

Is there any way we`ll know the true purpose of strong commodity prices before a; commodities crash or b; bombs start dropping. The answer is no, unless your sitting on top of every international transaction which no one can as daily state wealth funds transaction are treated as if the`re top secret, in fact many are. Personally I`d prefer hedging to war but state run wealth funds are involved in hedging, increasing the odds of conflict through the dynamics of quantum possibilities.

that`s the hard way, enjoy your choice

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wall Street began the second quarter with a big rally Tuesday as investors rushed back into stocks amid optimism that the worst of the credit crisis has passed and that the economy is faring better than expected.

And there was also optimism that commodities prices, which have hit historic highs in recent months, have begun to retreat

&quot; You tend to see a home bias in times of trouble, so if there&#039;s going to be trouble in the European sectors as well, it brings cash home to the U.S. quite quickly,&quot; said Camilla Sutton, currency strategist at Scotia Capital.
Robust commodity prices have supported the Canadian dollar recently, but that support has been tempered by fears that Canada&#039;s economy will be dragged lower by slowing growth in the United States, its key trading partner.
