LEST WE FORGET – Visitors to Parliament Hill are always struck at how much war is a theme of the place. Many of us born into a non-stop peace sre surprised at how previous generations struggled against dark forces of tyranny and oppression of thought, and the toll that took. The evidence of this is everywhere in Parliament.
In fact the Peace Tower itself is a soaring monument to the hope that a war like the “Great” one – World War One – would never happen again. And in the bowels of that tower is a special memorial room that too few Canadians have had a chance to stand in. MPtv visits that quiet and dignified place, as we all take a moment on November 11th once again to say, lest we forget.
